Klidonas is a custom, an act of the tradition. It comes from antiquity, it passes through Byzantium and Christianity and is maintained until our days.
Even this year, Klidonas was celebrated by the Women's Association of Nea Anchialos and prophesied the fires of “St. Ioannis of the mountainâ€, custom inherent in health, long-term and good luck.
The fire was lighted up, as young and old people were jumping over it ''For the good''. The cheerfulness then culminated with the city's troubadour, the talented and always eager Stelios Stazouris. His beautiful songs and his sweet voice prompted the world to "cycling" dances. The fun continued until the evening on the pedestrian street, giving a festive note on the summer night.
"Let us be strong enough to share in joys and celebrations united and powerful," said the president of the Women’s Association of Nea Anchialos.
